Thanks very much Trish:
There are a few details in that obit that I wasn't aware of. Do you have family connections with Roddy's family?

No I don't but am doing research for my community which has has 'Spence' ties. So I thought that i would share what I found. I am trying to find out who Peter Spence's wife 'Annie' was (last name). He was born ca1840 and she ca1851 in York Factory, I believe. Their son was Benjamin and they were treatied at Long Sault FN, near Rainy River.
Re: RODERICK SPENCE (1886-1960)
Trish: In 1891, the Peter, Annie and son Benjamin SPENCES that you are referring to were members of the Little Falls (Little Forks) Indian Band (Coucheching Agency). That year they made application for Consent to withdraw from the Reserve. Permission was granted by the Chief and Councillors of the Band.
In the 1916 Census, Peter (age 75) & Annie SPENCE (age 70) were patients in the Dynevor Hospital in St Peters Parish.
