Hello, I think there's a typo. On the title it states his birth year as 1798. On the first paragraph below it, it says 1789. I haven't been able to find any birth info on him at all, but I did find a christening record in 1794. It came up as a hint on Family Search under England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NVC9-3X5

Thanks Carol – correction made. The 1798 birth date comes from two different sources. Sprague & Frye Genealogy of the First Metis Nation, and from his Hudson’s Bay Company Bio.
