1898
On Oct 13, 1898 Thomas married Sarah Mina STEVENSON in St Peters, the eldest daughter of Jemima and John Thomas STEVENSON (1862-1943).
Census of 1906 in the St Peters Reserve: Thomas FIDLER, age 32; wife Sarah, age 22. Children: Nora (age 9), Nellie (6) and baby Pearl.
The Historic and Controversial Surrender of the St Peters Reserve
1907
ICC: On September 20, 1907, after extensive previous negotiation, Government officials met with the Chief and councilors of the Peguis Band. Opposition to the surrender was voiced by ex-Chief William ASHAM(b-1853).

Census of 1911 in the St Peters Reserve: Cree family of Thomas FIDLER, age 34; wife Sarah, age 25. Children: Nora (age 12), Nellie (9), John (9), Pearl (6), Gertrude (3) and Ventrice (age 1).
By 1911 most of the St Peters Indian Band had moved to a new reserve at Fisher River. The St Peters Indian Reserve was gone forever; the area was thereafter referred to as St Peters Parish.

World War I
1914-1918
On Aug 4, 1914 Great Britain (Canada on Aug 5) declared war on Germany and Austria-Hungary to uphold treaties with France and Belgium which were under German attack. This marked the beginning of World War I.

In 1914 daughter Nellie died in Peguis of consumption. She was only 13 years old.
Census of 1916 in the New Peguis Indian Reserve: Cree family of Thomas FIDLER, age 38; wife Sarah, age 28. Children: Nora (age 16), John (14), Pearl (9), Gertie (7), Ventrice (6) and Harry (age 4).
On Nov 25, 1916 Sarah Mina (nee STEVENSON) FIDLER died in Peguis of consumption. She was buried in the old St Peters Churchyard.
In 1918 eldest daughter Nora died of consumption, only about 18 years old. She was buried in the Peguis Cemetery.
November 11,1918, Armistice Day (Remembrance Day) marked the end of the First World War.
Census 1921: Selkirk (#35), SD-60 (Peguis IR), pg 14, HH-145: Thomas FIDDLER, widowed, age 46. Children: Pearl (age 16), Gertie (12), Ventrice (9) and Harry (age 6).
In 1926 daughter Pearl married Lawrence BEAR in Peguis, son of Annabella PEEBLES & William Robert BEAR (1876-1904).
In 1928 daughter Gertrude married McMoreane “Mac” McCORRISTER in Peguis, son of Catherine WATT and William McCORRISTER (1870-1944). ** MORE ABOUT WILLIAM McCORRISTER
On Jan 2, 1933 Thomas FIDLER died in the Winnipegosis district.
In 1938 youngest son Harry married Connie Victoria SMITH in Peguis, daughter of Harriet FAVEL and Jacob SMITH (b-1875).
