Gary, I came across some info. about Humphrey Favel & Sophia's daughter Mary. Mary married a James Stevenson (widower), at age 16, on July 12, 1879. James was 32, son of a Samuel Stevenson, settler. Her birth date correlates to what you have her as on their family page. Then she had a son, William James Stevenson on Jan. 29, 1893. This info. is from St. Peter's, Dynevor Baptism & Marrriage Records.
(I found this info. doing my own research, but have not found a relation to my own family history. Just wanted to share the info.

I recognize I'm resurrecting a dead thread, but I'm a descendant of Mary Favel and James Stevenson.
Curious what information you have on Mary.

I am sorry, but further investigation led me to Mary's sister Harriet Jane, who I found was my relation. She married Peter Sinclair. I never went further on the rest of the family.

According to the 1870 census for the Red River Settlement, James was born in 1840 and his wife, Mary, was born in 1835.merrilyiam wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2013 10:13 am Gary, I came across some info. about Humphrey Favel & Sophia's daughter Mary. In "Genealogies of Red River Households 1818-1870", James (1840) was Indian, son of Samuel and Mary, and his wife Mary (1835) was Mary Beads, also Indian from RRS.
The James Stevenson (1847) was the son of William Stevenson (Indian, 1807-?) and Mary Williams (Metis 1819-?). This James married Mary Favel. His brother, Peter (Indian, 1833-?), married Margaret Ballenden in 1854.
